UPAY

UPAY is a non-profit organisation, established in 2010, which strives to make education for all increasingly accessible with its two major prongs – Footpathshaala and Reach and Teach. Children are taught through open classroom programs using various recreational and skill developmental activities with the vision of a world where education is no longer a distant dream for every child. Since its inception 12 years ago, UPAY has achieved various milestones with its multi-dimensional and personally-catered approach. With the motto that, if the children can’t reach school, let the school reach them, UPAY envisions removing the disparities in the field of education. Through its programs, UPAY has reached over 10,000 children in 5 states and union territories of the nation till now.

Rural India Development Foundation

Rural India Development Foundation is a non-profit society which seeks to address developmental issues in the forest areas of Vananchal in Uttar Pradesh through a holistic approach. In the field of education, RIDF runs a community school in partnership with Integrated Sustainable Development Council (ISDC – a non-profit organisation), where over 300 children from forest communities are enrolled for free education. The community school runs in Naugarh, Chandauli and tries to reach the most remote pockets of the district in order to bring education to every child in the region. The centres also serve as a centre of social activity through regular health camps, awareness drives and community discussions in order to establish a strong connect with the all stakeholders.

Integrated Sustainable Development Council

ISDC runs 20 education centres in 6 districts (including 3 aspirational districts of Bahraich, Sonbhadra and Chandauli) of Uttar Pradesh. It provides free supplementary education to over 600 children in the age group 6-14 years. The organisation aims to bring the voices of the people of these areas into the development discourse and inform policymaking. They hold regular community consultations, weekly meetings with parents/guardians of children in rural areas of UP and monthly tests to make education a participative process. ISDC also runs 3 digital learning centres in 3 districts of UP where basic computer skills are imparted to youth in the age groups 6-18 years using computer applications. For several children, ISDC centres are their first exposure to computers and digital devices.
