“Waste Management in Uttar Pradesh – Lessons from Barabanki & Bahraich”

CGAPP and ISDC are proud to present our paper on “Waste Management in Uttar Pradesh – Lessons from Barabanki & Bahraich” based on stakeholder consultations on waste management structures and issues in peri-urban areas conducted in ULBs of Barabanki district and 5 villages of Bahraich district. The learnings delineated in this paper seek to inform identification of common issues and problems in waste management in the state of Uttar Pradesh which can be studied further. ISDC is a non-profit organisation working on Sustainable Development Goals across 6 districts in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It provides supplementary education, livelihood training and health checkups to local communities at its community centres. Ground level consultations and interactions with stakeholders were coordinated through ISDC with CGAPP functioning as the knowledge partner for the survey and subsequent paper.
